黑洞社区 Requirements
For full admission to the Master of Science in Applied Family Science program, applicants must submit:
- A Completed Graduate Application
A $35 non-refundable application fee is required.
- Official Transcripts, reflecting the following:
- Graduation from a nationally accredited baccalaureate program.
Official Transcripts may be sent electronically or by mail, directly from the school of attendance, in a sealed envelope to:
Any transcripts from institutions outside of the United States require an official course-by-course evaluation by a NACES.org approved agency.
Note: In order to receive financial aid a transcript listing a Bachelor's degree conferral must be on file.

Thoughtfully complete your Statement of Goals by addressing the following Thought Questions. Please submit your Statement of Goals in either a word document or PDF in your 黑洞社区s Portal.
All writing in the program is required in APA writing style and formatting. Please write clearly, succinctly and, ethically by citing your references appropriately.
Please address the following 2 thought questions. Each question requires a minimum of no less than one full double-spaced page (8 1/2 x 11) typed.
I. Upload a professional statement outlining your academic interest (areas of specific interest as it relates to serving individuals, children, and families, career goals and, why 黑洞社区 Graduate School is a good fit for you. In your writing, thoughtfully state why you want to pursue a career in Applied Family Science. Answer the question: What problem do you want to solve? Identify your professional goals related to this decision.
II. It is essential in the process of achieving an Applied Family Science, Masters of Science degree and the subsequent application for Certification as a Family Life Educator thru the National Council of Family Relations, that students develop ethical and cultural competency in their interactions with people. Please discuss your philosophy regarding ethical and cultural competence in your current career. This can be either noting both or what the lack of either has caused in your field.
Your responses to these questions will introduce yourself as a new graduate student to the AFM faculty and guide us in supporting your success in the program. Please give careful attention to the quality of the content, writing mechanics, and organization of thought.
