Earn Your Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in Anesthesiology To Become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

ChristianaCare and 黑洞社区 are partnering with leading health care organizations, including Anesthesia Services, P.A., to offer a program that trains critical care registered nurses to become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). This program is designed for bachelor’s-prepared R.N.s with at least one year of full-time critical care experience and spans 36 months, combining three years of rigorous didactic education with two years of clinical rotations.

The Delaware Nurse Anesthesiology Program at ChristianaCare and 黑洞社区 will:

  • Offer more than 2,000 hours of clinical experience in high-acuity settings, covering a wide range of surgical specialties and patient populations across the lifespan.
  • Integrate state-of-the-art simulation and skills labs, giving students hands-on training in a controlled environment to hone their clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Focus on real-world experiential learning, led by practicing experts, to ensure graduates can apply theory to evidence-based practice in anesthesia care.
  • Prioritize student well-being, fostering a supportive culture that values both academic success and personal health/well-being.
  • Prepare graduates to sit for the National Certification Exam (NCE) to become CRNAs.

Add Your Talents to a Critical, Growing Field

A nationwide shortage of both anesthesiologists and CRNAs is creating a bottleneck for surgical service expansion. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects overall employment of nurse anesthetists to grow much faster than other occupations.

38% occupational growth between 2022-2032

47,810 employments

$212,650 median annual salary

The Delaware Nurse Anesthesiology Program aims to cultivate nurse leaders who will promote health equity and broaden access to care. Students will be trained to administer anesthesia to diverse patient populations in a range of clinical environments. Graduates will be equipped to apply evidence-based practices and spearhead health care innovation, ensuring better outcomes for all.
