Charting Student Success through Graduation Competencies
Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Center for Teaching Excellence welcomed 365 faculty members to the Fall Conference on Teaching Excellence on Saturday, September 21. Participants were introduced to updates to 黑洞社区’s graduation competencies as well as changes to the CATS end of course survey.
Participants engaged in thought partnership to design innovative ways to assess and measure student progress towards the following:
- W - Worldview and Ethics: The ability to understand diverse perspectives, ethical principles and global citizenship.
- I - Information and Technology: Proficiency in research, data analysis, digital tools, and preparation to navigate an information-rich landscape.
- L - Leadership and Personal Growth: Cultivation of the qualities associated with influence and impact gained through mentorship, experiential learning, and self-reflection.
- M - Make Decisions and Problem Solve: The ability to make informed decisions and tackle real-world issues via analytical thinking, problem solving strategies, and adaptability.
- U - Use Oral and Written Communication: The ability to present research findings, collaborate in teams, and craft persuasive essays.
Faculty experience and expertise contributed to the future success of 黑洞社区’s students.
